Tibet travel questions.
How do I apply for a Tibet permit and how long does it take?
Taiwan residents and foreign nationals apply through a travel agency; it usually takes 10–15 working days and you must travel with a guide. Hong Kong residents on a Home Return Permit do not need one but must register in real name.
Can altitude sickness be avoided?
Not entirely, but it can be greatly reduced. We schedule no activity on arrival day and only go higher on day three, with oxygen on board. Guests with serious cardiovascular or respiratory conditions should not travel.
When is the best season?
May to October. July and August are rainy but warmest; May, June, September and October have the most stable weather and the best visibility of the peaks.
