Qilian Grasslands & Menyuan private tour
The Qilian range runs between Qinghai and Gansu — the Hexi Corridor on its north slope, the Qilian grasslands on its south. Every July the Menyuan rapeseed fields fill the valley, and around Qilian town you find yaks, sheep and the snow-capped Gangshika peak.

When do the Menyuan rapeseed fields bloom?
Usually early to mid July, for about 20 days, shifting slightly with the year's temperatures. Outside the bloom, Menyuan still offers Dabanshan and Ganglonggou forest.
Will it be cold on the grassland?
Summer days are 18–24°C and mornings can drop to 5–10°C, so bring a jacket. At around 2,800 m the UV is strong — hat and sunglasses are essential.
Is this route good for elderly parents?
Very good. Daily driving is two to three hours, the altitude is lower than Qinghai Lake, the scenery is continuous and you can stop on the grassland whenever you like.
