Overview

Guangxi

The Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is China's classic karst landscape. Yangshuo is slow-paced — cycling, bamboo rafts, coffee. Two hours north, the Longji rice terraces are farmed by Zhuang and Yao communities: mirrored in May, golden in September. The easiest and gentlest route we run.

FAQ

Guangxi travel questions.

What is the easiest way from Hong Kong?

High-speed rail — about 3.5 hours from West Kowloon to Guilin. Taiwan travellers can fly into Guilin Liangjiang or connect via Guangzhou or Xiamen.

Is Longji worth visiting?

Yes, but seasonally. May (flooded terraces) and September (ripe rice) are the most spectacular; winter is quieter. About three hours by road, so stay a night.

Is it good for elderly parents?

Very good. It is our lowest-altitude and lowest-walking route — most sights are reached by vehicle or boat.
